This weekend saw the first round proper of the Sunday League’s senior cup competition, The Sunday league KO Cup with teams from division two and three meeting in four of the five ties. Division two leaders Tramway took on second place Caister Sunday from Division Three with Caister winning 5-4, with Chris Gilchrist scoring a hat trick for the disappointed Tramway. Mark Allen scored for Acle Wanderers, only for Andy Tate to equalize for the Wheelwrights taking a very evenly matched game to extra time and penalties which the Wheelwrights won 8-7. Two goals for Seajacks, Nathan Marshall were not enough for the division two side against new club GY Galaxy who had Quinn, Harman, Miners and a brace from Platten scoring. Belton Utd accounted for AC Mill Lane 8-1 and in the only all division three tie The Lord Nelson beat The Blackfrairs 10-1. With this seasons division three consisting of all new teams this was a good weekend for all the new sides. The Division one teams enter in the next round.

In Division One Bohemians and came out 7-1 winners against a young, but spirited Hemsby side. Carpathians Athletic and Gorleston Rangers shared 6-six goals evenly between. Last seasons champions Windmill beat Memphis Belton 6-1. Last seasons Division Two runners up Litchfield travelled out to Rollesby and came away 5-3 winners. El Sol gained the points in tight contest with Gorleston Albion winning 1-0.

The League has had a few changes this season including the addition of a third division. Unfortunately since the season has started we have lost one club, Hemsby Athletic despite some gallant efforts by the Hemsby club’s management. There have been changes in the management committee with different officers and roles being actioned by different control bodies.

There has been some teething errors with fixtures, referees appointments and registration being administered by the county for the first time, both the league and the county are working to resolve these as soon as possible, Clubs needing help should contact either Peter or Ian, contact numbers in handbook

The league would like to make this a weekly press release so I ask clubs to forward information, ie goalscorers by text to the league secretary - Peter Futter.
