Caldecott Halls' Barnard Cup run came to an end when they were beaten in the semi-finals by Weston Park. In an exciting match the lead changed several times and after 18 holes the sides were level.

However on the second extra hole a superb bunker shot by Weston Park to within five feet of the pin ensured their progress into the final.

Frank McLoughlin Caldecotts' non-playing seniors captain congratulated Weston Park and wished them well in the final. He said he felt his team had not so much lost the match but had been fairly beaten by an unbelievable golf shot on the final hole. He thanked Peter Morris his Barnard Cup organiser and team selector and paid tribute to his team. He said they had made him the proudest seniors captain in East Anglia.

In the other semi-final Costessey beat The Royal Norwich by two holes.
