Halls Group Great Yarmouth Sunday League

The season kicked off with most teams involved in county cup action which produced mixed results for the leagues teams.

In the Norfolk Senior Cup last season's beaten finalists Camden Tavern were involved in a high-scoring victory over Acle Rangers, 6-3.

Joining them in the second round draw are Lacons Arms who came from an early 2-0 deficit against Haig FC to eventually win 5-3.

The game at Aylsham Wanderers, where El Sol were due to play, was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Sadly, the league lost Gorleston Albion and Hembsy SSC from the competition as they went down 6-1 to Wymondham Rangers and 2-1 to Silver Fox respectively.

There was one league fixture in the first division as Archers beat Sunningdale Boys 3-2 at Ormesby.

Into the Intermediate Cup for second division sides, the only team that got through was Nothing Special who accounted for White Bell Wanderers 4-3.

Rollesby were crushed 6-1 at NCCSC and Memphis Belton went down 4-1 at The Fowler.

In the league Dukes FC won 6-2 against Acle Wanderers.

The third division sides were all involved in Norfolk Junior Cup action where the league had six sides progress and four bow out.

The teams that go through are Cantley Rovers who beat White Rose 3-1, Hembsy FC who thrashed Hockwold 9-0, Windmill who romped 11-0 at Lynn Napier, Albion United who beat Silver Fox Reserves 4-2 and Rampart Signs who beat Wendene Wanderers by the same scoreline.
