Catfield land yet another treble

Great Yarmouth & District Football League

Two more trophies were decided in the past week, with one still to be decided. And Catfield completed a fourth treble in six seasons.

On Wednesday night Caister CC lifted the Percy Nockolds Trophy with a 4-1 win over a battling Great Yarmouth Peelers side who pushed them all the way at Halvergate.

Man of the match Daniel Heller set them on the way with a first-half header in a game in which both teams created chances.

Caister CC went two up before Peelers pulled one back. However, Caister CC sealed the match with two late goals.

The league thanked Halvergate for their hospitality and Carol and David Hannant for presenting the trophies and for the buffet they provided. It was another outstanding night.

Catfield, meanwhile, completed a fourth treble in six seasons as they defeated MK United 3-0 on the Magdalen to lift the league championship. Catfield will be presented with the trophy tomorrow at Mill Lane.
