Bradwell Bowling Club

THE season is winding down but last week two matches were played in the Sunshine League.

At Thurlton, Bradwell won five points to one.

Tom Hall, Frank Hatton and Ken Hall gave no quarter as they advanced steadily to 25-4 by the 16th end. Their six shots on the next discouraged any challenge and they finished 34-9.

Diane Purnell, Ken Saward and Andy Cameron were 9-12 on the 13th but after achieving six shots on the next end they held the lead for a result of 20-15. Elizabeth Ward, Ray Norton and John Ward cut their deficit by scoring three on the 20th to finish with a creditable 15-19.

At home to Kensington Gardens, Bradwell took one point.

Tom Hall, Sheila Bean and Ken Saward leading by 13 shots, acquired five more on the 19th. Their opponents took the last two but the result was inevitably Bradwell's, 26-11. Kensington Gardens won on the other two rinks.

Bradwell will host visits from three touring sides on September 11, 12 and 18.
