Champion effort by karate group
East of England karate championships: Fifteen trophies and medals were brought home to Great Yarmouth by members of the Chinto Karate Group.In the Kata section Louie Bateman took a third place, Jay Emms earned first place, Thomas Watson won second place and both Megan Bromley and Ali Watson won first-place trophies.

In the Kumite (sparring) Dominika Szoma fought at her best earning herself a first place. Cassie Hill earned a respectable second place, Finn Bateman earned second place after mistakenly being placed in a higher-graded section.
Both Louie Bateman and Andy Norman won third place, Ayo Bile achieved second place and sister Tumi Mokabusan received a well-deserved first place.
Hayley Smith took part in the ladies' section and won herself a third-place medal. First time competitor Paul Day fought well, coming third , and Antonio Mangilli took first place.
Brogan Day gave a very brave performance in the boys U4ft 2in Kumite section and Scott Smith was unfortunate to get disqualified.
