FIVE members of local Baton Twirling club Cliffside Royalettes have just returned from the World Baton Twirling Championships and International Cup held in Ireland.

FIVE members of local Baton Twirling club Cliffside Royalettes have just returned from the World Baton Twirling Championships and International Cup held in Ireland.

Teams, including those from Japan, America and Australia, travelled to Ireland to take part.

Amy McWilliam, Abbie McWilliam and Jade Morgan took part in team and group events, winning a silver medal in the A Group section. Amy also won a bronze medal in the Adult Solo event.

Hannah Bailey and Daisy Drew, who were taking part in their first international competition as members of the England squad, also won a silver medal in the B Group section. Amy and Jade are also pictured wearing their national champion sashes which they won at the BBTSA National Individual Finals at Portsmouth in May.

Amy was national champion in Adult Basic Strut and Jade national champion in Senior Intermediate Fancy Strut.

The girls travel to Dagenham, Essex, regularly for England squad training and also compete in competitions all over the country.

Cliffside Royalettes also take part in local carnivals and fetes.
