Chaney sets a fiery pace in Gorleston Parkrun

PUBLISHED: 15:29 15 November 2012

Drizzle in the deceptively warm air greeted 124 Gorleston Parkrunners who were led all the way at a fiery pace by Robert Cheney of Ipswich Jaffa AC in his first run over the course.

Robert’s excellent winning time was 16:48 but not far behind was young Keiran McMorran of Bungay Black Dog AC in 17:27, which would often have been a winning time itself. Third was Thomas Gatenby in 19:10.

In the ladies race Sandy Roberts won in 20:12 followed by Karen Archbold in 20:49 and Lucy Pearson of Overton Harriers in 23:31.

Rachel Allen was congratulated at the start for reaching her 100 parkrun milestone and regular parkrun Volunteer Ira Smith announced he had raised about £180 for the Stroke Association from his recent GY marathon run. Very well done to both.
