In the Great Yarmouth Table Tennis League handicap event, 15 players were drawn into three groups.

In Group A Darren Smith came top by one point followed by Gary Stride, Bob Lamb, Ray Lee, and Derek Humphries. Group B was hotly contested but Martin Clarke was unbeaten with 12 points. Mick Wright, Neil Symonds and Eddie Fuller all scored six. Colin Fortescue was fifth. Cliff Frazer was a clear winner of Group C with 10 points followed by Sue Allen and Dick Boyce. Dick claimed third, Laurie Paulson fourth and Adrian Rumsby fifth. Fourth place in the semi-finals saw Gary Stride through as best runner-up.

In one semi-final Clarke went down to Frazer 11-21, 13-21. Darren met Gary and had to fight back for a 21-20, 21-18 victory. The final went to three sets, Darren edging the first 21-20. In the next two Cliff won 21-14, 21-16 to take the title. Winners of the doubles were Cliff Frazer and Gary Stride, with runners-up Ray Lee and Paul White.
