CYCLING: Cliff Park Junior School rode away with both first and second places in the latest inter-school bike racing event hosted by Woodlands Primary School. The event was organised and run by Kevin House, Sustrans Bike It Officer, Simon Edwards, Tri-A-Sport, and supported by Neil Turner, Great Yarmouth Cycle Club, and Alison Lilley, British Cycling.

Nine teams entered from four schools, Edward Worlledge, Hillside, Woodlands and Cliff Park Junior. In the morning, each team of six impressed in three different races. The final tally of points gave the hosts a third place but Cliff Park achieved both first and second places.

Vicki Mileham, Cliff Park Bike It Champion, was thrilled with the result: “Our children have really enjoyed the Bike It program and the events it has brought to school. A number of our pupils attend the racing skills sessions held at the Great Yarmouth Stadium by GYCC, and this is clearly demonstrated watching their performances in the races today.”

Thanks went to the organisers and schools who took part, and to Woodlands for agreeing to host the event at short notice.
