CLIFF Park High School skiers had an excellent weekend of racing at the qualifying round of the English Schools' Championships.
Three boys' teams and a girls' team travelled to Welwyn Garden City to compete against schools from all over south-east England.
The U16 boys' team finished third and the U19 boys and the U14 boys fourth - the younger team being only four tenths of a second from second place.
The girls' team, racing for the first time, suffered two falls, but recorded some excellent individual performances.
Although this is a team event there were some very impressive individual performances. Daniel Molloy finished fifth overall and 12-year-old rising star Matthew Wigmore won his age group, finishing 19th out of 200 and beating a large number of 17 and 18-year-olds on the way.
Cliff Park qualified for the English Schools' Championships at Rossendale in Lancashire.
