Club rugby match sees lots of points

A NUMBER of players came out on Boxing Day morning for the Broadland Great Yarmouth annual club match, with the players living in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston (Townies) playing against players from the surrounding villages (Countryfolk).

A NUMBER of players came out on Boxing Day morning for the Broadland Great Yarmouth annual club match, with the players living in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston (Townies) playing against players from the surrounding villages (Countryfolk).

The Townies won 47-36. Sammy Jordan put in a man-of-the-match performance with a personal haul of five tries for the Townies, and Richard Ruddick was leading scorer for the country folk with a hat-trick. The match utilised rolling substitutions.

The senior team return to training on Wednesday, January 6 at 7pm and full fixtures resume on Saturday, January 9.
