A group from Great Yarmouth Cycling Club are swapping their bikes for running shoes on Sunday to compete in the Greater Manchester Marathon.

None has ever run a marathon before and many have only been running for around a year. All have been training over the winter months.

To help spur them on they decided to help raise funds for a local good cause, that of Laurel Allen, a girl aged three who was diagnosed with a form of eye cancer called “Retinoblastoma.” She has already lost one of her eyes through the condition and continues to have treatment on the other. The funds raised will help with ongoing travel costs to and from hospitals in Birmingham and Glasgow, as well as any modifications that may be required to their home to help Laurel with everyday life.
