An impressive total of 300 parkrunners descended on Gorleston Cliffs at the weekend to enjoy a real taste of summer, with the seafront bathed in sunshine.

A total of 54 personal best times were recorded, reflecting the ideal conditions.

There was a great battle between two regulars, Darren Honour and Colleen Mukuya. Colleen used Darren’s speed to pull herself round to finish in an exceptional time of 18.19. This was a PB and earned her second place behind Simon Daniel who ran 18.09. Darren, who raced the Manchester Marathon less than a week before, still managed third in 18.27.

Emma Blackwell, Maureen McGovern and Andrew Bradley all reached their milestone 50th runs.

A special mention must go to Brian Tate of Beccles Triathlon Club in the 70-74 age category. His his incredible finishing time of 19.46 made him the highest ranking runner in terms of the age-graded performance.
