It was a lovely warm day on Saturday, but parkrun numbers were down to only 308 at Gorleston, probably because of other local events at the weekend in Brandon and Norwich.

The first woman to finish was Colleen Mukuya, despite pushing her youngest in a pushchair. The fastest man was Tyler Bilyard of GYDAC.

The Beccles and Bungay Harriers had a high presence, supporting two of their members, Kevin and Annette Copemen-Lamoureux, who were completing their 50th parkruns, and Izzy Woods on her 150th. Lauren Howe of the same club was second woman finisher while Sharon Wright from Harlow was third.

The star personal best of 34 achieved came from Malcolm Steadman-Jones who gained it on his 75th parkrun.

Full results are at www.parkrun.org.uk/gorleston, register and come along and join in. It is not a race, merely a timed run or walk, starting 9am every Saturday, and it’s free to take part.
