Special congratulations go to Colleen Mukuya as, on her 432nd Gorleston parkrun, increased training led to a fastest ever ladies’ time.

The record of 17 minutes 50 seconds had been held since June 2009, by Jess Petersson from the London area. Colleen’s new record is 17.16.

The big question now is can anyone beat the best men’s time of 15.29, which is also held by a visitor.

On a warm morning, 334 people ran, jogged and walked the route and 36 of them achieved personal bests. The arrival of the holiday season brought in 41 first timers including entrants from Rebel Runners of Medway, Widnes, Runfit in Essex, Bourneville, Redcar and Hatton Darts of Burton-on-Trent.

Star personal best this week was obtained by Davina Balls on her 127th run, proving persistence does pay off. Midfielders this week were regulars William Delf and Paul Greensides.

Also well done to Bernadette George on her first parkrun.
