Caister 6 Bradenham Wanderers 3

Caister continued to claw their way to Anglian Combination Division One mid-table respectabilty after an emphatic revenge win over a team they lost to in the first game of the season.

Caister dominated the first half. Nicky Crawley was unlucky when his header from point blank range cannoned off the cross bar. Caister took the lead when Fitzgerald broke down the right to pull the ball back for Crawley to head home.

Caister pushed forward looking for a second, however, Bradenham equalised with the last kick of the first half when after a good move their striker finished well from distance.

Caister took the lead after 55 minutes when Rowley headed home an excellent Ward corner. Ward then scored directly from a corner using the wind to dip the ball.

Bradenham clawed one back with a header from a corner. Rowley put the game safe with a great left-footed shot from 20 yards.

New signing Bryanton scored an excellent volley to make it 5-2. Bradenham didn’t give up and pulled one back when a shot hit the post and rebounded off the unfortunate Newby into the net.

At 5-3 Caister looked nervous. However, Crawley added his second and Caister’s sixth with two minutes left.MoM: Anton Ward who saw more of the ball in this open game and was devastating in wide areas.
