After a very successful season for Blundeston Cricket Club when they were promoted, the team are grateful to their sponsor Ian Smith Financial Planning Services.

Blundeston hosted an awards day for all age group teams at Lothingland school field and also held invitational games between two groups of younger up-and-coming players.

The first team played one another

in what turned out to be a very competitive match.

The club congratulate those players of all ages who won awards for either batting or bowling and wish them the best of luck next season.

First team awards were won by: Mark Chapman, Blundeston bowler of the year (also won divisional bowler of the year); Nicholas Mobbs, Blundeston batsman of the year (also won divisional batsman of the year); Elliot Gooch, young player of the year.

U11: Reece Millham, best batsman; Dominic Daplyn, best bowler. U13: Alan Davies, best batsman; Dominic Gooch, best bowler. U15: Martin Talbot, best batsman; Adam Palmer, best bowler.

The club wants to encourage new players to join it.

Winter nets begin today (October 17) at Kirkley Sports Centre, situated within Kirkley High School, Lowestoft.
