AT Lichfield Community Centre, the Southtown O-Yama-Ryu Goshin Karate Club held a special grading. This was to award two of its senior students their Dan gradings.

AT Lichfield Community Centre, the Southtown O-Yama-Ryu Goshin Karate Club held a special grading. This was to award two of its senior students their Dan gradings.

Sarah Heales was awarded with her first Dan grade, whilst senior instructor John Heales was awarded his second Dan. Both gradings were in the Goshin Karate style.

The grading was held by the club's senior Instructor Shihan Kevin Garwood who said he was very pleased with the continued progress of the two participants.

The Goshin Karate style is a combination style of self defence techniques which combines elements of Jui jitsu , Judo, Aikido, and some elements of Karate and groundwork techniques.

The first session is from 5.30 to 7.30pm at the Lichfield Community Centre. The second session is from 7.45 to 9pm at the Claydon Pavilion, which is situated on the Southtown Common.
