Gorleston Tornados U15s, who play in the Norfolk and Suffolk Youth League Division Two, met Hemsby from Division One in the Shield Final at Emerald Park.

Two even sides gave the crowd an entertaining game which was a credit to the clubs and the league in which they play.

After a goalless first half the deadlock was broken when Dean Short touched the ball round the Hemsby keeper to slot the ball home. Hemsby reacted positively and pressurised Gorleston to try and force an equaliser but the defence held strong. A free-kick to Hemsby with four minutes to go on the edge of the box brought a good save from Gorleston’s keeper.

Gorleston’s next attack lead to their second goal, with Short challenging the defender and the ball breaking for the Gorleston striker to volley the ball home to complete a 2-0 win.

The Tornados completed a fantastic season by going on to win Division Two in the U15 NSYFL.
