GREAT Yarmouth Racecourse has a bonus for racing fans and Easter holidaymakers alike next week - two fixtures instead of one as the 2009 season gets under way.

It's the traditional Easter Monday launch for us, but we are racing on Tuesday too.

This is the opening double header for a season when there will be Flat racing on 24 days between now and October.

The meeting on 'Easter' Tuesday is an extra one - after the fixture was transferred from the troubled Great Leighs Racecourse in Essex.

Visitors on Easter Monday who retain their tickets will be admitted on Tuesday for 5 into the grandstand and paddock enclosure (normal price 12) and for 10 into the premier enclosure (normal price 19).

As always, accompanied children under the age of 16 are admitted free of charge. On Easter Monday, there will be live children's entertainments, donkey rides, face painting, and fun races for youngsters on the track.

The first race of six on Monday, April 13 is scheduled for 2.15pm, with admission gates open from midday. The finale is at 5.10pm. One day later, the first race is at 2.20pm with the finale at 4.50pm.
