Gorleston Golf Club’s Maddock Tankards Greensomes competition had to be postponed owing to heavy rain and high winds.

In midweek, on a bright but cold day, the Ladies’ Section played their 10 hole Christmas Foursomes followed by a Christmas lunch.

The winners with an excellent 20 points were the pairing of Vera Woolnough and Jackie Walsh. They were presented with the Centenary Christmas Foursomes Trophy by ladies’ captain Vonnie Thornton.

Aheavy frost meant that the Midweek Stableford competition also had to be cancelled.

However, Saturday dawned cold but sunny and a field of 24 pairs played in the annual Christmas Mixed Foursomes over 16 holes. The winners, with a super score of 34, were Pauline Phillips and Lee Chapman. Second were Penny and Paul Platten with 31 points on countback from Jean and Gerry Eaglng.
