Bradwell-based El Sol and Yarmouth outfit Windmill hit the FA Sunday Cup trail again this weekend.

In the second round El Sol take on previous finalists Upshire, from Epping Forest, at Emerald Park, Gorleston (ko 2). El Sol are one of only two clubs in Norfolk to have been invited to play in the contest and manager Jeff Rowland said: “We were approached to represent Norfolk and I had no hesitation in agreeing to take part. We have seen good progression in the strength of our squad and the quality of our play in recent years and competing in the FA Sunday Cup will provide us with a good measure of how far we have come in terms of our development.”

The first round saw El Sol travel down to Essex to play a strong Sungate, coming home with a 1-0 victory. Chairman Mick Houghton said: “We are extremely grateful to the directors of Gorleston for agreeing to allow us to play this game at Emerald Park. It will add to the atmosphere and we are hopeful that local people will come along to support us.” Entry to the game is 2. Windmill are away this Sunday at Comets Sports Club of the Berkhamsted Sunday League (ko 1).
