Evans above on amended Gorleston Parkrun course

PUBLISHED: 08:39 13 July 2012

The first running of a slightly new Gorleston Parkrun course proved successful.

Event director Chris Harbord said that running along the wider cliff-top meant more space for runners as well as local people out for their morning walks. The 5k event distance remains exactly the same so all park run statistics are unaffected. “Radar” was declared this month’s Sweat Shop prize winner.

A very good turn-out of 105 participants enjoyed another fine morning. Men’s winner Marc Evans recorded 19:02 for his second win. Second was Adam Overy in 19:42 and third Jack Ollington in 20:16. Nick Overy takes over as league points leader with 952. In the ladies race Sandra Roberts, of Norfolk Gazelles, AC recorded her 11th win in 21:38 followed by Penny Studley of GYDAC in 24:11 and Janina Domiczew in 24:23. Maria Ball leads the points table with 915.
