Martham have made an excellent start to the Anglian Combination Division Two season, winning their first three games.

Their latest win came at Holt, with goals from Cam Mallett and Olly Woodhouse earning the visitors a 2-1 success.

They had earlier seen off Acle Reserves 2-0 (Joe Blake, Mallett) after opening their campaign with a 2-0 win over Caister Reserves at the Coronation Ground.

That match saw the new permanent management team take charge for their first time, manager Troy Lacey being assisted by Bryan Patterson and Lewis Hannant. The club were also able to show off their new first team kit which local business Martham Spice have sponsored.

New signings for Martham including ex Caister player James Hunt followed by fellow additions Mallett, signed from local rivals Hemsby, Matty Lee who has signed from Stalham Town, Alex Armes signed from Great Yarmouth Town, Jack Amey signed on a free transfer and a welcome back to the club for Olly Woodhouse.

Martham were the better team in the opening minutes of the game and it wasn’t long before Darren Patterson and Lee both went close. The Greens continued to dominate and were rewarded when Woodhouse opened his account for the season with a quality strike from 25 yards.

The second half saw Caister come into the game more and they went close on a few occasions but The solid back three of White, Stronach and Armes were on fine form and they dealt with all Caister had to offer.

Martham killed the game off when Sam Patterson found Darren Patterson in the box who headed home from five yards. Martham looked determined to kick the season off with a win and never let Caister into the game, the man of the match award going to Cam Mallett.
