Last weekend saw father and son goalkeepers both save penalties to ensure results were rescued for their respective teams.

On Saturday, dad – Scott Addy, making his debut for local team Norfolk n Chance, helped secure victory over Yarmouth Peelers with a late penalty save.

On Sunday, James, a regular player for Hemsby U7s and coached by his dad, ensured a deserved result over local rivals Martham with another last-kick-of-the-game penalty save.

It must have something to do with the gloves they were wearing, both pairs being supplied by gk2kpro.com and KA Goalkeeping.

Having played at a variety of levels over the years in various countries, Scott Addy now spends most his time coaching prospective goalkeepers in the unique art of keeping.

His newest students are the U7s at Hemsby, where all six goalkeepers wear the same gloves and receive coaching regularly, and have improved immensely.

This father/son tradition in the Addy household is continued, with eldest son, Jordan also plying this trade back in Bedfordshire.

The only one left in the household to try and get the gloves on is wife Marie!
