Broadland-Great Yarmouth 35, Norwich Union 3
BROADLAND-Great Yarmouth produced their most convincing win of the season as they put five unanswered tries past Norwich Union in the first round of the Norfolk Junior Cup.
Early pressure kept Norwich pinned in their own half with some ferocious rucking from team debutant Shawn Tubbs. Good hands between Ledgerwood and Buckley set wing Jared Webster down the flank, Webster utilised a perfect stiff arm on his opposite man before breaking to score in the corner (unconverted).
Sensing an opportunity, fly-half James Doggett kicked a drop goal from 25 yards.
Broadland were allowing Norwich little space and a turnover created space for some exceptional link play between the forwards. Sam French collected a short pass, spun to Asa Morrison, who in turn put the ball out to Matt Beckett. He was breaking into space and off-loaded on the outside to Ed Dixon who cut back in to score under the posts (converted Doggett).
Broadland were showing exceptional form and centre Stacey Ledgerwood put in an opportunist kick-and-chase, recovering the ball to score (unconverted). Ledgerwood added a penalty shortly after. The visitors managed a penalty, but Broadland had a comfortable 23-3 lead at half-time.

Broadland lost none of their tempo in the second half. A break from just outside his own 22m line saw wing Webster cruise around the Union defence and down the sideline to score his second (unconverted).

Ed Dixon went over for his second try after a textbook display of fast rucks from the forwards provided the platform for his break from 40 yards out (converted Ledgerwood).
