HALVERGATE Cricket Club, sponsored by Eden Resourcing, celebrated a successful season at their annual presentation evening at the playing field pavilion on Saturday.

HALVERGATE Cricket Club, sponsored by Eden Resourcing, celebrated a successful season at their annual presentation evening at the playing field pavilion on Saturday.

Ninety players, members and friends attended an enjoyable evening that also included a horse racing night, which raised �570 towards the continued development of the club's coaching facilities.

The first team were congratulated on winning Norfolk Alliance Division Five and the A team finished third in Division Five of the Norfolk Cricket League, missing promotion by a fraction of a point.

Chairman Michael Key, first team captain Steven Clarke and A-team captain David Jones presented the trophies to the prize winners: First team batting average Simon Brister, first team bowling average Tom Booth, first team players' player Simon Brister, first team captain's player Kelvin London. A-team batting average Stuart Willimott, A-team bowling average Paul Ryan,

A- team players' player Paul Ryan, A-team captain's player Glyn Debbage. Sunday batting average Luke Hannant, Sunday bowling average Shaun Howley. Young batsman Luke Hannant, young bowler Tom Booth. Committee's player of the season Simon Brister, clubman of the year Mike Key.

Thanks went to all that attended made the evening possible and to the race sponsors the Cooke family, the Youngs family, the Hannant family, the Booth family, Eden Resourcing and Mills Brothers Builders Ltd.

The general meeting will be held on Sunday, October 4 7:30 at The Playing Field Pavilion and all are welcome to attend as planning starts for the 2010 season.

The next fundraising event will be on November 21 which will be a quiz and chips night.
