Aston Berry Great Yarmouth Sunday League

THE first two pieces of silverware were decided this week on the Wellesley where Hemsby SSC and Rumbold Arms both came through tight games by an odd goal.

In the KO Plate final it was Hemsby SSC (pictured on back page) that prevailed 3-2 against the favourites Newtown Golfers whilst in the Third Division Cup final, Rumbold Arms scored the only goal against Memphis Belton.

There were only five other matches that took place with the pick being the first semi-final of the First Division Cup where El Sol scored the only goal in a tight game against Archers to book their final place against either Camden Tavern or Norton Athletic whom meet this week.

In the final Division Two Group game Windmill racked up a 9-0 win against Camden Tavern Reserves to win the group and book their semi-final slot.

Of the league matches played, in Division Two Hemsby FC and Caesar's Bars shared the points following their 2-2 draw whilst in the third division title favourites Star and Garter edged the three points against Sun FC 3-2 whilst the biggest cheer goes to Bohemians who picked up their first three points of a long season courtesy of their 4-3 win at Mariners Compass.

This week sees the Knock-Out Cup

semi-finals take place with Windmill taking on Caesar's Bar and Gorleston Albion entertaining Arches.
