AT the end of this month the Great Yarmouth summer race evenings get under way, and with five to choose from there are plenty of opportunities to attend for those unable to make the afternoon meetings, writes Glenn Tubby (pictured).

These kick off with a summer race night on Tuesday, May 31 (during half-term week) followed by Ladies’ Night on July 12, music live race nights on August 3 and 15 and finally another summer evening of racing on Tuesday, August 23.

Plenty of options for all and remember to book up to five days in advance and online to enjoy a discount on the admission prices.

For those looking for some extra entertainment live music from excellent tribute bands is also provided after racing on July 12 (Tom Jones Tribute) August 3 (JLS Experience) and August 15 (Almost Pink) – so make sure you bring your dancing shoes!

In the meantime, the horses are back in action next Friday. There are seven races starting at 2.20pm. Admission gates open from noon. The finale is at 5.20pm.

Admission: Grandstand and paddock 14; premier enclosure 21. Accompanied children 16 always admitted free of charge.
