J Saunders, B Pooley, R Pooley, R Pooley, B Drake lost 13-15, J Ellis, T Burrage, P Ellis, R Beckett lost 18-19. C Johnson, M Lynes, J Dispain, G Curtis lost 17-24. S Hopwood, D Saunders, D Richards and J Warnes lost 12-21.

In the National Fours against a rink from Bradwell R Pooley, A Calver, M Colcombe and skip K Dunn were 24-3 up at nine ends and cruised through to the next round 34-12.

In the Lovewell Blake Malta Cup, the ladies were at home to Martham and had a convincing win 53-36 6-0 points. S Allen, B Wright, R Beckett were 6-11 down at 10 ends but 12 shots over their next three ends saw them home 20-15. B Phillips, J Warnes, B Payne were never seriously troubled and won 16-10. L Westgate, P Ellis, DC King were 6-6 at six ends but they pulled away and won 17-11.

The B team went to unbeaten Ormesby on a first class green and came away with the spoils winning 74-56 5-2 points. L Gutteridge, F Shaw, D Richards raced into a 14-1 lead after 10 ends, eased off but won 18-11. N Green, H Plane, R Albone bowled very well and had a comfortable win 23-6. G Logan, D Kingston, B Drake were 1-10 down at five ends but then found line and length and only lost 19-20. S Hopwood, S Carpenter, W Moss were leading 14-11 with two ends to go, but then dropped eight shots to lose 14-19.

The A team visited Fleggburgh Pte and gained only half a point and lost 59-73 ½-6½. K Pooley, J Moore, M Colcombe started well and held on for a draw, 18-18. J Ellis, M Cook, A Calver were 9-6 up at nine ends, but a disastrous five ends of 4-3-5-4-4 (20 shots) from which they never recovered and lost 12-28. T McNulty, D Mann, K Dunn were 7-8 down at nine ends, then the wheels came off and they lost 13-20. R Pooley, P Barber, B Warnes were 7-17 down at 15 ends. Despite scoring nine shots on the last three ends went down 16-17.

The A team also went to high flying Freethorpe A, and after a very good game on a very good green lost 67-77 2-5 points. J Ellis, R Pooley, A Calver bowled extremely well and won 16-13. T McNulty, M Cook, D Mann had a very close game and won 18-16. D Webster, J Gray, K Dunn lost 16-19. K Pooley, J Hewitt, M Colcombe despite a six on the 11th lost 17-29.

All B teams were involved in the County League. The A team travelled to County Arts and came away with a very good win 78-40 4-1 points. K Pooley, J Hewitt, D Mann, M Colcombe scored 10 shots on the first four ends and never looked back to win 34-7. J Ellis, J Moore, B Warnes, A Calver were 5-5 at eight ends but moved up a gear to win with 25-13. D Webster, P Pooley, M Cook, K Dunn were 9-9 up at 10 ends and lost 19-20.

The B team were at home to Great Plumstead and lost 44-58 2-3 points. The match was marred by the illness of two Great Yarmouth bowlers from the same rink - Frank Shaw and Dennis Cook. The club wishes them a speedy recovery.

The C team went to Browston and lost 44-67 1-4 points. G Hillier, D Hatchett, E Bulley, A Ellis won 20-17. L Comerford, T Burrage, T Westgate, J May lost 11-25. M Yarrow, C Last, D Saunders, P Ladmore lost 13-21.
