A Flegg High School student has received a top award in recognition of his athletic achievements, which include running the 100m in a time of just 11.14 seconds.

A Flegg High School student has received a top award in recognition of his athletic achievements, which include running the 100m in a time of just 11.14 seconds.

Kai Hewitt, 15, was presented with the Foreman Trophy by Great Yarmouth newsagent Ralph Childs and Owen Church, president of the Yarmouth branch of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents, on Monday.

But the multi-talented teenager is not only a handy sprinter, he is also gifted with his hands as he is a goalkeeper with the Ipswich Town Football Academy.

And when he is not keeping between the sticks, he is also deputy head boy at his school and a member of Britten House.

Mr Childs said: “He is a lovely lad and we are delighted to be able to celebrate the achievements of youngsters in this area by presenting this award.”

The award is given annually by the federation to youngsters who have been successful in the academic and sporting fields.
