GORLESTON began attacking up the slope on a boggy Shoemakers Lane and straight from the kick-off Mitch Forbes was through on

goal but Swaffham keeper Lee Brookes came out to save, writes David Hardy.

The Greens kept pressing, Gary Williams dragged a shot wide before the first goal arrived in the tenth minute. Thomas Daniels reached a long ball down the left wing and did well to cross to Forbes who calmly side-footed home.

Five minutes later Forbes looked to be about to burst through again but was felled by Gary Haime. A terrific free-kick was played in but nobody could get on the end of it.

The Pedlars were struggling to contain Gorleston and after 33 minutes the Greens extended their lead. Williams took a short corner to Taylor. His cross was met by Aaron Bowers who turned it in from a yard out.

Good link-up play on the right from Williams and Taylor resulted in a Williams shot that was blocked with Forbes' follow-up saved.

Five minutes before half-time John Bell turned and slid a ball through to Forbes who hit it first-time past the keeper and into the net off the post. On the stroke of half-time Daniels put the ball through for Forbes to slot in his third and Gorleston's fourth and effectively seal the three points.

The Greens started the second half well and had plenty of space whenever they attacked, an early Williams effort going over.

Gorleston were in cruise mode and switched off at the back only once when Swaffham efforts were blocked by three Greens defenders.

Peter Lambert came on for hat-trick hero Forbes and Gorleston continued to dominate, able to relax and knock the ball around.

A Jamie Stockeld free-kick was superbly tipped over by Brookes and a Reece Hunn cross was fired wide by Williams.

It was the 93rd minute before the fifth goal came. Good work again by Hunn set up debutant Liam Bartley. His shot was palmed out by Brookes but Lambert followed up to knock the ball into the net.
