Four Phoenix Karate Black Belts moved on to the next stage of their careers after completing a grading on Sunday.
Officiating were Vivianne Trorey (4th Dan), Dean Snowling (4th Dan), Dale Halladay (3rd Dan) and special guest Billy Brogan (6th Dan), who travelled down from Hull.
During the five-hour grading the panel witnessed power, technique, self discipline and control, as the quartet performed basics, kicks, padwork, kata, combinations, self defence, sparring and competition fighting.
William Neesham from Lowestoft was going for his senior 1st Dan, while Gorleston’s Samuel Snowling and Jonathon Jones from Caister were going for their Senior 2nd Dans. James Allan from Carlton Colville, a student with Phoenix for nearly 20 years, was taking his 4th Dan. Everyone performed well and despite being exhausted they all passed.
