GREAT YARMOUTH TOWN U10 completed their season with an enjoyable weekend at The Walkers Stadium, Leicester to play in Matt Elliotts Tournaments hosted by Football for Fans. The young Bloaters have had a fantastic season, winning the domestic league and cup double unbeaten, collected a winners trophy at the Norwich v Ipswich Legends tournament, came a very creditable runners-up in the Ipswich & Suffolk Open Cup, and finished winners at the Walkers Stadium to give this gifted team a quartet of trophies. Losing only one game this season in the I and S Open Cup final has been awesome.
Yarmouth had a group of five teams travelling from all over the country in the Leicester tournament and in each game the Bloaters were outstanding. In match one, Yarmouth beat Alexston Eagles 4-1 (Hunter 2, Rodwell, Wright). Match two saw an incredible team performance against Lutterworth Town, winning 11-0 (Hunter 3, Sims 3, Rodwell 2, Aizlewood 2, Sawyer). Match three against St Andrews Spartans saw the young Bloaters win 4-1 (Rodwell 2, Wright 2). Match four was against the eventual finalists Colsterworth Colts where Yarmouth won 1-0 ( Wallis). Yarmouth topped their group and played the second placed team Colsterworth Colts in the final and won 3-1 (Hunter 2 and Sims).
Thanks to all players: Josh Swanston, Alex Sawyer, Kyle Haylock, Callum Aizlewood, Jordan Rodwell, Archie Wallis, Thomas Hunter, Thomas Sims, Bobby Jex and Owen Wright, for an exceptional season.
Wayne would also like to thank Dan Sims and Mark Aizlewood for their assistance, John Wright for refereeing and all the parents and grandparents and supporters who have helped and followed this team this season.
