Gorleston Lawn Tennis Club held a friendly tennis tournament against Southwold Tennis Club. The event was divided into U16 and U18 categories with four boys in each age group.

Gorleston Lawn Tennis Club held a friendly tennis tournament against Southwold Tennis Club. The event was divided into U16 and U18 categories with four boys in each age group.

Gorleston U18s were Jamie Mitchell, James Brabben, Ben Foster, Tommy Hunt with the U16s comprising of Conor McQusitin, Lewis Myhill, Robert Hall and Josh Worton.

Southwold U18 were Daniel Liddel, Liam Bligh, Robert Cooke, and Liam Websdale with Conner Bligh, Matthew Cooke, Thomas Baker and Adam Roberts in the U16 squad.

The whole competition was played in the best of spirit with a good standard of tennis from all players.

In total 200 games were played and Gorleston emerged winners with 138 games to Southwold's 62.

Mike Boon, the Gorleston president, presented the trophy donated by himself to the winners. Gorleston captains James Brabben and Conor McQuistin (pictured below) accepted the trophy on behalf of the team.

Simon Jordan refereed the event and Mike Reynolds the club chairman provided the barbecue and refreshments.
