A gifted young player has taken another step towards fulfilling her dreams after winning selection to the Norwich City Centre of Excellence Academy.

Ella Sayer, from Hemsby, was one of the select few of the around 100 trialists selected for the academy's U12 girls' squad.

Previously a member of the Norwich City Player Development Centre, Ella is the only girl to have been selected for the Martham Primary School team and plays for Hemsby Hornets.

She will be competing in fixtures against teams such as Arsenal, MK Dons and Luton, receiving some top-class coaching and learning about nutrition and fitness.

The 11 year old, who starts at Flegg High School in September, future ambitions are to turn professional and play at Wembley.

Mum Jo said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for Ella and we are very proud of her achievement. She is a very determined and passionate player and has worked very hard for this. I know that she will continue to always give her best.”
