Goals flow in Yarmouth league

Week two of the league season saw plenty of goals across the full programme.

Leading the way in the scoring charts is Richard Watts of Bohemians, who helped himself to five goals against a youthful Feathers side in a 12-1 win for the home side that also saw Nathan Derry get four.

Bohs end the week top with maximum points.

Another side with maximum points is Catfield. They recorded a 5-0 win against a Norfolk and Chance side who never stopped battling. Catfield face a strong local derby this week, against Gorleston Reserves in the Junior Cup.

MK United got their season started with a 2-0 win at Yarmouth United. The home side never stopped battling and will be encouraged by this performance against a strong MK side.

In the end the experience of the visitors came through. This week they entertain Diss Town Reserves in the Junior Cup at Burgh Castle.

Great Yarmouth International staged a very late comeback, as two goals in the last five minutes saw them turn around a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 against Yarmouth Peelers.

Both sides face strong opposition this week as International entertain Norwich champions Yelverton, while Peelers entertain Coltishall, riding high in the NEN League.

Albion got back on track with a fiery 9-0 win at Caister United A, with Peter Oldham grabbing a hat-trick, and they make a short journey to Hickling for their tie this week.

In Division Two, Caister CC made it two wins from two as they defeated MK United Reserves 5-1 on Gorleston rec, to show their ambition for the season.

Prostar Windows, on the back of an opening day win, entertained Caister Youth, with the game finishing 2-2.

Preston Clarke and Martin Woolsey were the home scorers.

Arches recorded a fine 8-2 against Martham A, under the leadership of Arthur Bowles for the first time. Arches scorers included, Tom Burell, Steve and Scott Calver and Stuart Finch. They face a difficult match with Caister CC on Gorleston rec this week.

South Yarmouth picked up their first three points with a 6-1 win at home to new boys Wellington, who are trying to find their feet in the league.

Belton got off to the perfect start in the league with a fine 2-1 win against a stronger-looking Carpathians at Burgh Castle.
