PLAYERS are teeing off in the Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Ladies Lifeboat Guild RNLI charity golf day next week.

The tournament at Caldecott Hall, on Tuesday, is full up with 26 teams involved and sponsorship provided by many local businesses.

Putting and longest drive competitions are taking place alongside the main event, with a hole-in-one winner receiving a new Peugeot 207 from Sidegate Motors.

It is the first time the golf day has been held with men's, ladies' and mixed teams all taking part.

All 18 holes at the course have been sponsored along with the putting green, and it is hoped to raise around £7,000 for the lifeboat.

Trophies will be presented to the winning teams and best individual players at a celebration supper.
