The Aston Berry Great Yarmouth Sunday Football League

THE first finalists of the season are Newtown Golfers who reached the final of the KO Plate by beating second division Camden Tavern Reserves 6-1. They will face Acle Wanderers or Hemsby SSC in the final.

In the divisional cup, El Sol booked their semi-final place by beating Sunningdale Boys 5-1 in group A. They will now play the final group game against Norton Athletic to decide who wins the group and obtains home advantage.

In group B, Camden Tavern and Arches shared four goals and both sit on four points and will need to win their final group games to ensure their semi-final places.

In the second division cup, Caesar's Bar won 3-2 against Hemsby to give themselves a chance of progressing from group A whilst Belton United inflicted a 6-1 defeat on Gorleston Albion to qualify as group

runners-up behind Rollesby.

In the third division cup, Star and Garter join Rumbold Arms in the semi-finals following their 5-0 win against Carpathians. Venture Albion's 2-1 win over Crown gives them a chance of qualifying as best runner-up, but this depends on the result of the Memphis Belton v Mariners Compass game to be played this week. Mariners gave themselves a chance following their goal-less draw against Sun FC.

In the league, Norton's season reached a new low as they could only muster nine players for their match at Hemsby which they lost 4-1.

Second division favourites Windmill were held to a 1-1 draw by Acle Wanderers whilst Memphis Belton continue to head the way in the third division following their 5-0 win against Bohemians.
