Gorleston 2, Kirkley & Pakefield 2
THE Greens had an entertaining friendly last Wednesday against Ridgeons Premier Division Kirkley at Emerald Park.
Pete Lambert, a regular Gorleston player for the last three seasons, was in the Gorleston side for his first pre-season appearance. He is involved with cricket during the summer months.
Two ex-Gorleston players were in the Kirkley line-up, Nathan Stone and Chris Henderson. New signing Mark Allen, and Adam Thurtle scored for Gorleston, with Adam Boggis and Ian Dawson on the mark for Kirkley in a very good workout.
Last Saturday a mixed Gorleston team lost 3-0 to Dunstable at Emerald Park. Gorleston used 18 players, including former first-team midfielder Aaron Huggins, who has returned to the club.
Gorleston sent an 11-man side to Hempnall last week and lost 2-0, but again it was a very beneficial workout.
The club looks forward to welcoming both old and new supporters in the coming season.
