At the Castle ABC show in Colchester, Essex met Norfolk. Sevie Middleton of Kingfisher ABC met Danny Celvert of Canvey Island ABC and won on points.

From the start of round one Middleton held his hands high to stop the taller Celvert from picking off

easy points. Middleton used his superior ring craft, moving in and out of range, picking his shots and delivering them from a variety of angles to body and head.

The second round started with Celvert trying to push Middleton back, initially having some success. Middleton soon got to grips with this more aggressive style.

Switching from body to head as Celvert moved into range, Middleton scored well then moved away. In the final round Celvert had no option than to move forward, trying to pressurise Middleton into a mistake.

However, Middleton's ring craft came into play again keeping him out of danger allowing him to pick his opponent off as he came in giving him a well-deserved points win.

Paulius Macivleuilius, of Kingfisher ABC, met Jordon Tilseley of Chatteris ABC in the Eastern Counties Class Six Junior ABA under-75kg final over four two-minute rounds.

From the first bell Macivleuilius took the bout to the cagey counter-punching Tilseley with Macivleuilius

always moving forward, pushing Tilseley back onto the ropes scoring well with powerful straight left-right combinations.

Within the first few seconds of the second round Macivleuilius delivered a solid right-left combination that rocked the Chatteris boxer that had him holding on.

However, he recovered quickly and for the rest of the round moved out of trouble. Macivleuilius started the third round at a blistering pace forcing Tilseley back under a constant and withering series of combinations.

Macivleuilius eventually forced a standing count with a strong left hook as Tilseley attempted to escape from being trapped in the natural corner.

With the start of the fourth round Tilseley's attempted screw shots were brushed aside as Macivleuilius constantly moved forward on the attack.

Tilseley was forced to hold on in order to disrupt Macivleuilius and gain a respite as the Kingfisher boxer's greater fitness started to take effect.

The latter half of the round ended in a series of brief burst of activity followed by Tilseley holding on to the much stronger Macivleuilius.

A unanimous points win going to Macivleuilius took him forward to the Junior ABA Under-75kg quarter-finals.
