Gorleston will be making an early start to their Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division campaign.

The Greens, who will be aiming to build on a promising fourth place finish last season, have less than six weeks to prepare for the first game, a home clash against Thetford Town on Tuesday, August 1 (7.45pm).

Clubs were given the option of making an early start on either Saturday July 29 or the following Tuesday evening ahead the FA Cup extra preliminary round ties which are being staged on August 5.

Greast Yarmouth Town opted not to get a league game early and will play their first competitive game of the season in the cup, with the draw being made on July 7.

Prior to their opener the Greens have arranged a tough schedule of pre-season friendlies.

Training begins on June 29 before Gorleston start their warm-ups at Swaffham on Saturday, July 15.

This is followed by home friendlies against Dereham Town on Friday, July 21 and then Lowestoft Town on Tuesday, July 25, the latter being for the Sailor Brown Trophy. In between, Gorleston XIs will visit Caister and Harleston on July 22.

The Greens end their pre-season at King’s Lynn on Saturday, July 29.

The remaining league fixtures will be released later, meaning the Bloaters will have to wait to discover their first game.
