Gorleston will be hoping to get back to winning ways tomorrow after two defeats in a week. However, they face a tough challenge with a game against Mildenhall Town in the FA Vase second qualifying round at Emerald Park.
Whilst this is Gorleston’s first match in this season’s Vase competition, Mildenhall have already played one game, when they trounced March Town Utd 6-1. The Suffolk team are also sitting high in the league, in third place, having lost two of their 10 league games so far. On Tuesday they recorded a resounding 9-0 victory over this season’s early pacesetters Wisbech, although Wisbech did have three players sent off.
The winners will get to play Wroxham in the first round proper. Following Mike Derbyshire’s departure to Yarmouth, Stuart Larter has been appointed as assistant manager to Richard Daniels. Everybody at Emerald Park would like to thank Mike for what he did for Gorleston and wish him the best of luck.
