Gorleston will be looking to follow up an impressive midweek win when they take on FC Clacton at Emerald Park tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
Having seen last Saturday’s schduled home clash with Wivenhoe postponed because of a waterlogged pitch the Greens were back in action at struggling Fakenham Town on Tuesday evening.
And with Ross Gilfedder scoring four times they came away with a thumping 6-2 win that lifted them up to 14th in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division table.
The last time a Gorleston player scored four or more in a match was on December 15, 2012 when the Greens beat Clacton 10-2 with Ali McKenna netting seven.
Gilfedder’s heroics helped extend an impressive sequence for Stu Larter’s side, who now taken 12 points from a possible 18. Tomorrow’s opponents FC Clacton lie seven points behind them, having played four more matches.
There was a double wash-out last Saturday, with Great Yarmouth Town’s fixture against Saffron Walden Town at The Wellesley also being postponed.
With no midweek game to focus on the Bloaters should be suitably refreshed when they resume their Premier Division campaign with a home fixture against bottom of the table Wivenhoe Town (3pm).

They will go into the game with an unbeaten run of seven matches behind them, with four wins and three draws seeing them follow Gorleston’s example in climbing up the table.
