It was a second disappointing result in succession for Gorleston following the 4-1 drubbing at Halstead a fortnight ago.
The recent slump in form leaves manager Richard Daniels with plenty to think about before taking on the table-topping Tangerines Tuesday night.
Gorleston will hope to follow the example of rivals Great Yarmouth after the Bloaters' recent 3-1 victory over the previously unbeaten league leaders.

GORLESTON slumped to a first home defeat of the season at the hands of an impressive Brantham Athletic.
Three second-half goals sealed a comfortable win for the visitors after the sides had gone into the interval level at 2-2.
It was not a result that had looked likely when Neil Hurren gave Gorleston a deserved lead after just seven minutes, turning a mishit shot in from close range.
The Greens failed to build on their advantage however, with Athletic increasingly dominant as the game progressed.
The pressure told on 20 minutes when Harry Licence shot in off a post after a David Grimwood header was blocked.
Referee Euan Goodman then turned down a strong penalty appeal, to the dismay of the Gorleston bench, after Hurren appeared to be bought down by keeper Ryan Bedingfield.
To add insult to injury Athletic took the lead just minutes later with Sean Gunn scoring from long range.
An entertaining opening half ended honours even when Gorleston wide man Stephen Taylor levelled with a superb chip.
Far from that providing a platform to build on, the Greens crumbled in the second half, completely bossed by the Suffolk side.
Lee Wilcox scored from the edge of the box shortly after the restart before further goals from Oliver Mann and Adam Thompson.
Only a number of good saves from keeper Elliot Pride prevented Gorleston suffering an even heavier defeat.
