Gorleston BC welcomed Finedon Town (Northamptonshire) BC for the third annual friendly.
With 48 players on the green the match was played in great spirit with Gorleston running out winners with a score of 131 to 101. Gorleston’s long-serving president Bill Brunning, 93,) was in attendance and presentations were made between the two clubs. A buffet and refreshments were served after the match, and a special thank you to all club members who brought food and raffle prizes.
Many thanks to Barry, Iris and Angie for making the teas, etc and sorting the raffle which was a great success. We are looking forward to the return match later in the season.
At Browston Village BC, during the summer break a group of bowlers entered a tournament in Alicante against the local club Monte Mar. Under a hot sun and on outside mats they lost both matches 81-41 and 73-54 but enjoyed the hospitality.
