Gorleston have been rewarded for their fair play. The Greens have been announced as winners of The Ridgeons Football League Fair Play Award for the months of January and February. Mildenhall Town and Debenham LC were in joint second place. Gorleston will receive a cheque for 250.

Gorleston play the second of three home games in a row tomorrow when Walsham-le-Willows visit Emerald Park.

Willows were beaten 2-0 by the Greens in the reverse fixture back in November which was, before Tuesday night’s win over Norwich Utd, the last time Gorleston had kept a clean sheet. Walsham are currently fourth from bottom and 12 points behind Gorleston having played two games more.

Next Tuesday night Gorleston have what looks, on paper at least, to be a tougher encounter when Mildenhall Town are the visitors. An equaliser two minutes from time gave Mildenhall a point in the reverse fixture and the Suffolk side also knocked the Greens out of the FA Vase.

Gorleston are holding an evening with Manchester United legends Alex Stepney and Arthur Albiston on Wednesday 4th April at Gorleston Golf Club. Tickets are available now, costing 30, from David Cooke, 17 Micawber Avenue, Gt Yarmouth, telephone 01493 856636 or email cissiejacko@aol.com.

n THE club will be running a coach to the Norfolk Senior Cup final costing 5 per person. Whilst this may be almost two months away, after this week’s fixtures, there will only be four home games remaining.
