East Norfolk College 8 Chesterfield Col 0

East Norfolk Sixth Form College welcomed ex-Norwich City and Wales midfielder Jeremy Goss, who gave the team a talk on preparation ahead of the quarter-final round of the British Colleges’ Sport Cup.

The talk, combined with an excellent display of football secured a semi-final place in emphatic fashion.

East Norfolk started brightly with Thacker missing two golden chances in the first 10 minutes.

A strong wind restricted both sides but Trett opened the scoring after 15 minutes with an opportunist goal which was quickly added to by Thacker. Trett again finished a good East Norfolk move before Barnden made it four before half time.

A great move was finished by Bailey 10 minutes into the second half. Under attack from Chesterfield, East Norfolk continued to break and looked like scoring at every opportunity. Thacker added to his tally with a great cross goal finish. Trett secured his hat-trick with a good piece of individual skill and Church made it eight.

n East Norfolk’s Women’s Football team won 3-0 against Huntingdon Regional College. Scorers: Mel Anderson, Carly Rivett and Charly Branch (with a 35-yard strike).
