Gorleston Golf Club are celebrating further success in county competitions.
First up were the men’s Hambro team of eight who had a brilliant win 28 holes up over 36 holes against Halesworth.
The team progressed to the quarter-finals where they have a home draw against Bungay.
The ladies’ Cranworth team of eight recorded an excellent 6-3 victory, again over 36 holes at Rookery Park against the team from Thorpeness Golf Club. They too progress to the quarter-finals where they will meet Halesworth Ladies at Aldeburgh.
The men’s Stenson team had a home draw against Haverhill. Victory eventually went to Gorleston on the first play-off hole when captain Danny Perring sunk his birdie putt.
The ladies’ past and present captains’ competition was won by Rosemary Woodhouse on countback from Jan Parsons while the Peggy Norton Trophy was won by Heather Harvey (39 points).
